Introducing Re-imagined Materials
What if the most interesting material isn't the obvious one?
We're used to thinking about products by what they are.
A notebook is paper. A bag is cotton. A bottle is metal.
But increasingly, some of the most interesting products start somewhere completely different.
Building the Threadworks catalogue hasn’t been easy. In an industry full of the same products, we’ve spent months finding things that feel different, unique, considered and memorable merchandise that’s genuinely worth putting your brand on.
Discarded milk cartons can become notebooks. Fruit waste can become paper. Waste destined for one place can be reworked, redesigned and given an entirely new purpose.
We call them Re-imagined Materials.
A better material makes a better story.
There's something much more memorable about being handed a product and discovering it used to be something else. Something bizarre.
It creates curiosity.
"That's made from what?"
And suddenly a fairly ordinary piece of merchandise has a story behind it.
For brands, that's exciting. Because merchandise shouldn't just carry your logo. it should give people another reason to remember you.
Looking beyond the obvious.
Re-imagined Materials is our exploration of the unexpected things products can be made from, and the people, processes and ideas making them possible.
We'll be looking at everything from fruit waste and recycled packaging to textile offcuts and materials you probably have never considered before.
Not because every product needs an unusual material.
But because sometimes choosing something a little less obvious can turn an everyday object into something worth talking about.
This is Re-imagined Materials. Let's see what things can become.
